# Starlight Fast 3

Fastest Starlight model yet, accelerating precise diffusion upscaling without sacrificing quality.

### Model Overview

**Starlight Fast 3** is the next generation of the Starlight Fast line, a diffusion video enhancement model built for faster iteration and deadline-driven workflows. Designed to upscale and enhance both GenAI and archival sources, it delivers up to 4× the processing speed of Starlight Precise 2.6 while achieving comparable high-quality results.

At 1080p output, Starlight Fast 3 can render up to 7 frames per second, completing a 10-second clip in under 40 seconds. It also uses scene splitting, automatically detecting cuts within a video clip to improve temporal stability and consistency at scene changes.

### Key Capabilities

* Up to 4× faster than Starlight Precise 2.6 for faster iteration and turnaround.
* Comparable 4K output quality to Starlight Precise 2.6.
* Significantly improved skin, text, and fine detail compared to Starlight Fast 2.
* Scene splitting improves temporal stability at cuts within a video clip.
* Designed for high-quality diffusion enhancement where speed and production deadlines matter.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://developer.topazlabs.com/video-models/starlight/starlight-fast-3.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `build a script that syncs our docs to a CMS` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
